White Pepper

Although it is treated differently, black and white peppercorns are both the fruit of the pepper plant. After the outer husk is removed, the ripe seeds of the Piper nigrum plant are used to make white pepper. It is used in light-coloured meals when black particles are unwanted because of its gentler, less complex flavour than black pepper. White pepper is endemic to India's southern region.
